Here are some useful skills for your child to have when starting school:
Key websites for learning at home.
Oxford Owl - reading and maths resources https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/
ICT games - literacy and maths games http://www.ictgames.com/
Nrich maths - great ideas for using maths through play - https://nrich.maths.org/early-years
CBeebies - Alphablocks - https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/shows/alphablocks
PE will be on Tuesday each week. Please ensure your child has their PE kit in school. We recommend keeping it in school and taking it home for a wash each break.
Our Library day will be on Friday each week. This will be an opportunity for your child to choose a book to share with you at home. As a school we encourage reading for pleasure and this is the perfect way for you to help promote a love of literacy, too.
We use Tapestry to keep you up-to-date with your child's learning. Remember to check Tapestry regularly and discuss the learning you see with your child in order to help your child stay enthusiastic about learning. If you have any questions regarding your child's Tapestry account please do not hesitate to ask.
A big thank you for your ongoing support with school uniform. The children all look very smart in their new uniform. Wearing the correct uniform is something we pride ourselves on as a school as it provides the children with consistency and a sense of belonging.
The Butterflies had a fantastic time at our first Story Cafe.
We read a book to teach us phonics sounds and then made our own alphabet flashcards. It was lovely to have our grown-ups in to help us with our learning.
Thank you to those grown-ups that were able to make it. Your feedback was very positive and valuable.
Here are some photos of all the wonderful fun we had!
We are already looking forward to our next Story Cafe and hope to see you there!
