Chestnut (Yr 4)

Welcome to Chestnut's Class Page!

This term, our topic is Road Trip USA. We have been learning all about the geography and history of America, particularly focusing on Native Americans.

Maths: This week the children are learning about time and understanding how to use a 24 hour clock.

English: The children have recently learnt about New York City and researched all the wonderful things to do there. In their writing, the children are pretending they have been to New York and are writing a descriptive letter about their experience.

Reading: This term Chestnut class are reading The Chronicles of Narnia: The lion the witch and the wardrobe.

Our VIPER focus this week is inference.

How you can help your child at home

Reading with your child every night will help them in every element of their work! Within maths, it is really important the children are confident with their times tables. Again this will support them with all their maths skills!

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Story Cafe

Staff and children really enjoyed their story cafe. There were some really brillient pieces of art and it was lovely to see children and adults working together!

Yarmouth Sea Life Centre

The children really enjoyed their trip to the Sea Life Centre on Wednesday (13th March 2018). We learnt all about the different types of fish and creatures in the ocean.
