This term our topic is...
Towers, Tunnels and Turrets
This term we will become castle experts.
This is an enquiry based topic.
As a class we have identified what we already know about castles and have created a list of questions that we would like to find the answers to.
In history we will be finding out about famous people from the past.
In English we will be planning, writing and editing our own castle themed stories.
We will also be visiting a castle during the term to find out what life was like living in a castle.
This terms homework projects...
Make a Rapunzel story box!
Using a range of materials and a box work with your family and friends to create a Rapunzel story box.
All story boxes will be displayed and Mr Owens, Mrs Catchpole & Mrs Freeman will select a winner from each class – these pupils will receive a prize!
At the end of half term we will be holding a ‘Fabulous finish’ event where parents will be invited into school to see what we have found out and what we have been up to over the term.
Please bring your story boxes into school on Friday 14th December.
Parents are invited into school on Friday 14th December from 2:30pm.
Please ensure you read daily at home with your child. Children will have the opportunity to change their reading book on a daily basis.
We will also be visiting the schools 'Lost library' every Friday afternoon. Children will be given the opportunity to take home a school library book. (Please make sure these are in school every Friday to be changed.)
PE - All children should have full PE kits in school at all times.
We will also be swimming every Friday morning (beginning 21/9/18). Children will need swimming kits on these days.
We had great fun at our first swimming session on Friday. All of the children were super learners, trying new things and pushing themselves to achieve.
Well done Elephants!
